Narrative

Very kind to his eldest grandson.
...but oh my what a temper to a little kid.

Everyone respected him. It gave me much "face" to be his grandson

I went to school with a couple of Granpops relatives children. I do not know how we were connected as cousins. They are the Latimores, Johnsons, and Washingtons.

Randolf ( Ronnie) is still in Middlesex county. He and his wife ( Sabrina also a school mate of ours) have a family there. Ronnie is a school District Supervisor. Ronnie has one younger brother Darnell and and Older brother, Eddie. Last heard of in Phila.

The House my Father Built.

Daddy believed that he could do anything that he wanted to do if he put his mind to it. Well? Yes! He build this house and it's all brick. Daddy never took a course in brickmasnary. He just watched and asked a lot of questions of my Uncle Hugh in Richmond who was technically trained and skilled at the vocation. But daddy put his mind to the task!

The beautiful legacy that Daddy leaves with is building was brought to my attention after his funeral in 1987. My brother-in-law Kirk had just completed his beautiful home in Jessup, Maryland. I asked him who gave himt he idea to even think of building his own home? He said, "Your father, Mr. Davis." Daddy would have been very pleased to know that. He loved to feel that he had inspired some young man to do good. What a beautiful legacy to leave to your own family.
